my fave way is to draw oversize. then scan the dwg, and then fiddle with it in corel. i don't use any software to create scroll. the resize in corel allows for very good transfers of any size i want. i recently began creating what i call master transfer patterns. i cut the different sizes onto...
yes and when i get outta the hospital, my lawyer will be contacting you !!
no, not extreme. when the part is in position, no matter how well centered, the top will follow gravity. i just want enough resistance to over come the tendency.
welcome. a knowledge of heat treating, as you have, will allow you to make all the gravers you want. store bought are much more convenient, as they come in graded sizes and shapes. now is the best time ever for a newbie to try this art. so much info in print and video, there's little excuse for...
welcome. the crocker, at best, is useless for accurate facet restoration. a round blan k, for example, is extremely difficult to register. if one cant register the tool position, the same geometry will evade you. esp as a beginner, the consistent angles always give the same feel to the tool in...
hmmm. i'm wondering if a cheap imported, diamond impregnated disc could be used. the ones i have are absolutely flat. could one not just turn the disk over and charge it with the grit of choice. i have a 120 that i've never used. i just may give that a try. i'll mention my results after i try...
ok ! situation solved. a friend gave me some veryhigh viscosity grease. nearly tar in appearance and feel. quite a few rotations were needed to "work" the stuff. it now rotates xactly how i like it. used it for about 2 hours or so. tyvm to all that sent ideas.
if you're in good standing with the owner, warn him, and let him assume the risk
shoot me a pm. i'll give you a few pieces if you'll cover the postage. i have so much of this, donating a couple pieces wont send me to the poorhouse
the bearing wouldnt budge. i flushed the old grease out, then added some bees wax. after 10 minutes or so the wax broke down too much. am going to give the rubber idea a try this pm.
roger: not sure if there's a bearing in the bottom. just a lot of very thin grease. i'll dismantle it and look to see if there's a bearing. am listening to everyone to decide what's best.
i have the latest corel version. it works with all former corel versions, as well as a truckload of different file extensions, a significant one for me is the use of .plt files. allows me to drive a vinyl plotter, a cnc engraving machine, as well as my trusty laser machine. doing a drawing by...
i have a victor. the model with the hole/lock pin. it rotates too freely. at least for my hand. what's a good way to apply a bit of resistance or braking to the top half. no, i don't need another doorstop, just a viable suggestion.
