I reckon so. Beautiful as usual. Your animals are amazing but your scrolls and leaf structure are almost mesmerizing to me I find myself drawn into them.

I spent a few days at the High Plains Regional Rendezvous in Nebraska. I volunteered to engrave a capper on site for the auction this young man was fascinated with the process. Hopefully we inspired him he sat for hours watching.
I think a flowing border around the outside would help tie things together imho. I like where your going and with your design abilities it will just get better. The more I look the file may be the right approach.
My goal is to weaken their knees without buckling. But I also know now I charged too much for some at the beginning but they agreed to the price still feel a little guilty about it.

Do what monk suggested cut it on a practice plate over and over trying different shading till you get it right. It will improve your cutting skills and won't ruin your guard and will show you where to refine your design. When you get to the point you can cut and shade that design you will be...
Beeman, you can't go wrong with either GRS or Lindsey both great companies with very helpful staff. I use Lindsey because it takes up less space no control box.
